Christmas kindness, 2024 unwrapped

After a month of helping Santa deliver Christmas, the last toy has left the sleigh and the Joy Store is now closed. We’re blown away with the support this year. Even in a cost-of-living crisis, our community delivered more joy than ever before.

Throughout December, we provided 3,188 families and 11,598 children with 35,336 toys and 80,458 treats from the Christmas Joy Store. Across the country, we delivered 17,022 toys to 8,511 children and 1,314 whānau food for Christmas Day.

This was achieved through raising $587,230 and just over $2.9M worth of LEGO, toys, food and treats donated from our generous partners and community.

For many families, it's about more than just food or toys. It’s a reminder that people care and that there is hope. As a mum of three wrote after visiting the Joy Store, “thank you for reminding me of love and that there is always light at the end of the tunnel”.

Thank you for your kindness. Meri Kirihimete, with gratitude, Sarah, the KC board and team.
